About ModelLaunch
Since its founding at the beginning of 2000, millions of visitors from more than 150 countries have logged on to participate, discuss the industry and gain inspiration from the success stories of the top fashion models, agents and photographers who lead the industry. Here's a brief timeline of ModelLaunch's history...

ModelLaunch started as the very first online Male Model Search. |
| March 2000 |
We began publishing indepth, in-person interviews with top male models, photographers and agencies who provided behind-the-scenes accounts of their experiences in the industry and working with various top photographers and designers. |
| February 2003 |
On our Third Anniversary, we launched a brand new version of the website with more features, articles, contests, and expanded member profiles. The new site sections were Face, Body, Bizz, Buzz, Ink and Launch, all different content sections. |
| May 2006 |
ModelLaunch underwent a dramatic change and was completely transformed into a professional networking and portfolio site for male and female models, photographers, agents, stylists, etc. |
| January 2008 |
Our server had a melt-down which resulted in the loss of all member and site data. After our attempts to recover the data were unsuccessful, we discovered an old 2005 backup of the site when it was still an online magazine. |
| March 2008 |
After successfully restoring the original articles and files from an old site backup, we decided to put them back online in a simple version of the site. |
To Our Former Members
The server crash we experienced in January was a devastating and unexpected blow. We lost both the main and backup drive on our server that day, and we did everything possible to recover whatever data we could from the damaged backup drive. Unfortunately, the ModelLaunch site data was destroyed and unrecoverable.
We now have a new, better server with enterprise-level backup. After discovering an old site backup from 2005, we decided to return all of the former interviews we did with models, agents and photographers in early 2000, which is the site you see here now.
Currently there are no plans to return the portfolio or networking features to ModelLaunch. With so many other sites offering those features, there's just no point in going down that road again. Instead, we plan to go back to our roots and start publishing new articles and interviews this Spring.
